How to Use Pinterest to Make the Perfect Mood Board
Every January I do something to kickstart my year. I make a Pinterest mood board for the upcoming year. This always brings me joy and gets me in a good mindset early on. I believe this is something everyone should add to their resolutions. Here are the foolproof steps I take each year:
Step 1: Download and Update PinterestEvery year when I know this is approaching I make sure I have Pinterest downloaded and updated on my phone. I don’t use it much throughout the year so I double-check that it’s ready to go.
Step 2: Start Your Search
In the search section I start by typing a few words that I want to represent my year. Words like “happiness,” “organization,” “clean” and “healthy” usually give me the results I am looking for.
Step 3: Make a Board
Next I find a post that I like and pin it to a new board. I title that board “Mood Board for the Year” or something along those lines.
Step 4: Pin Your Posts
Once my board is created and I have those words in my search I am ready to start. I go wild pinning posts that make me happy and align with my goals. I make sure to have a good balance between pictures and quotes. I usually pin about 50 posts before deciding I have enough for the next step.
Step 5: Narrow it Down
This next step isn’t entirely necessary but it can help you make sure your board is exactly what you want. For this step you’ll need an app like Pinterest Shuffle or Canva. I download all of my images and load them into the app I am using. Then I lay them out on the page and crop them as needed. This leaves me with a scrapbook-style final product. I am always proud of my work after this step.
Overall this is one of my favorite traditions that I do. I end up looking back at this board throughout the year or whenever I feel lost. It helps me remember my goals and get back on track if needed. I highly recommend giving this a try this year. It will make a huge difference in your life.
I really like the way you integrated your own experience with Pinterest in a step-by-step guide of how to organize and setup your Pinterest. I personally haven't used Pinterest but this definitely makes me want to create my own mood board!
